Finding a reputable Real Estate Brokerage in Scottsdale, Arizona to handle your needs can be a long and tedious process. We take great pride in the many relationships that we have developed over the past 8 years in the Real Estate business in the North Phoenix and Scottsdale markets.

Summit Home Consultants is a division of Summit Land Consultants. Summit Land was established in 2001, and quickly rose to become one of the top Land Brokerages in the State of Arizona. In light of recent changes in the local market, we have shifted our focus to include not only land, but distressed residential properties as well. With over $250 million in real estate transactions over the past 8 years, we bring a level of expertise and knowledge to the table that very few other real estate agents or brokers can compete with. We are Certified Distressed Property Experts (CDPE). Less than 1% of Realtors in the United States currently hold this certification.

Summit Home Consultants was founded by Bob Hertzog and Ed Cheney. Our philosophy was to bring the same level of service and expertise that we provided to our land clients to residential clients in the North Phoenix and Scottsdale markets.

We guarantee that you will get a level of personal attention that is unmatched in today’s residential real estate market. For example, chances are that at your first meeting with them, you will likely be meeting with both me (Bob Hertzog) and Ed (Cheney). This is because all listings will be handled by both of us. That way, you can pick up the phone and either of us can answer any questions or concerns you may have. We will both be intimately familiar with your particular situation.

We are both Licensed Real Estate Brokers, not agents. Nor do we have any agents working for us. When you pick up the phone to call, or communicate in any other fashion (i.e. email or fax), you will be talking to one of the owners of the company, not a part-time assistant or secretary.

We both live in the North Phoenix and Scottsdale market, respectively. This allows us to not only be experts in changes in the housing markets in these areas, but we also have a tremendous amount of “hands-on” knowledge of the area, including the various schools, shopping, transportation corridors, etc. in the area.

Bob Hertzog

Bob is the founder of Summit Land Consultants, and co-founder of Summit Home Consultants, along with his brother-in-law, Ed Cheney. Bob is a native of Phoenix, specifically North Phoenix and Scottsdale. He graduated from Sunnyslope High School in 1987, and Arizona State University with a B.S. in Business Management in 1991.

Bob is a third-generation Real Estate Broker, and has witnessed the ups and downs of the market during his lifetime. He has very close relationships with some of the top Real Estate Attorneys, Mortgage Brokers, and Title Companies in the Valley.

Bob has been married to his wife Kim (who is a Junior High Principal) for 16 years. They have two children; Kaitlyn is 14 and attends Chaparral High School. Hailey is 7 and attends Cherokee Elementary.

Ed Cheney

Ed grew up in Ft. Worth, Texas and graduated from Texas Tech University in 1990 with a B.S. in Restaurant and Hotel Management. After working as a manager in the restaurant industry for six years he began a new career in Real Estate with Century 21 in Golden, Colorado.

Over the last 14 years Ed has been involved in both residential and commercial Real Estate. He has successfully represented both sellers and lending institutions in numerous transactions that have involved foreclosures, short sales and bankruptcy. Ed relocated with his family to Scottsdale in 2004 to work with his brother-in-law, Bob Hertzog, at Summit Land Consultants.

Ed has been married to his wife Tracy (a corporate attorney) for ten years. Their 5 year old son, Dean, attends Sequoya Elementary School.
